Caldwell The T is a collaboration cigar between Caldwell and cigar rock star AJ Fernandez. The cigar is manufactured in AJF's Nicaraguan factory and is distributed by Caldwell. The hand rolled cigar is filled with tobacco from Nicaragua and wrapped in an oily Mexican San Andres leaf and comes in five different vitolas. The one I am smoking for this review is the short churchill which is slightly longer than a robusto but shorter than a toro. The ring size is thinner than both of those more common sizes. I purchased a box of 10 from an online retailer and let them settle in my humidor for about two months before smoking any of them.
Wrapper: Mexico
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Length: 5 1/2"
Ring Gauge: 48
Size: Small Churchill
The Smoke: I smoked this along with some french pressed coffee poolside during my 2020 vacation. The wrapper is oily and dark leafed. This maduro cigar smells great pre-light with floral scents. After lighting the cigar, the aroma continues to provide an attractive fragrance. The taste has some cocoa and leather. It is a perfect complement to the coffee. The cigar burns evenly with nice and slow burn rate. The five and half inch cigar was an enjoyable 65-minute smoke. The cigar maintained its construction during the entire smoke and had a great even draw throughout. It really was a great way to start another day on vacation.
Score: Buy a Box of 20
