Have you ever come across a cigar review and seen the reviewer rate the cigar with a 87/100 points? What the heck does that even mean? For me, this type of scoring system seems arbitrary and lacks any semblance of consistency. I mean really, what is the difference between an 87 and an 88 and can most smokers even discern the difference between the two, because I sure can not. Also, have you ever seen a score of a 100 anywhere?
This is one of the reasons why my rating scoring system is different. I believe cigars can be placed into five different buckets ranging from don't waste your time on the low end and all the way to buying as much as you can afford on the high end. In other words, the better the cigar is from my perspective, the more I will recommend for you to purchase. Make sense? Seem simple enough? I hope so. I hope that this provides better guidance on the quality and enjoyable nature of the smoke from my perspective.
Each review I do will rank cigars on the following scoring system:
Buy a Box of 20
Buy a 10 Pack
Buy a 5 Pack
Buy a Single

The rating will be based on the overall construction of the cigar and the smoking experience in relation to flavor, burn rate, evenness of burn, draw, and the ability of the cigar to retain its construction during the smoke. These factors will be then evaluated against the price point of the cigar to determine the overall value. Once that is determined, I will rank the cigar accordingly.
