Juan Lopez Selección No 2
Juan Lopez is one of the lesser known Cuban cigar brands within Habanos SA line-up but this one should be near the top of the list for every cigar smoker and it is one of my personal favorites. The only two true Habanos Juan Lopez offerings are the Selección No.1 and the Selección No. 2, with this review focusing on the latter.
Wrapper: Cuba
Binder: Cuba
Filler: Cuba
Length: 4 7/8"
Ring Gauge: 50
Size: Robusto
The Smoke: The draw of this smoke is nice and easy to puff. The flavor is grassy with a hay like taste followed by slight vegetables and wood. Mid smoke the flavor changes to some light chocolate. The flavors are robust, but they never overwhelm the palate. The 4 7/8" robusto cigar burns evenly and maintains its construction for the entire smoke. My only complaint is that it was not a longer smoke as I thoroughly enjoyed the smoke and I puffed this one to a numb in about 45 minutes.
This is a great cigar and at relatively inexpensive price point for Cuban cigars. A box of 25 usually runs around $225 to $250 including shipping leading to a per cigar price of about $10 USD. I highly recommend buying a box if you come across one as it is one of the best Cuban cigars and brings the largest bang for the buck on the market.
Score: Buy a Box of 20
