This beautiful Nicaraguan cigar is slightly boxed pressed and features a beautiful Mexican San Andres wrapper that gives the cigar a milk chocolate hue. While La Aroma de Cuba markets this shape as the "Maximo" it, in reality, is a Robusto shape coming in at 5 1/2" x 54. You can also choose to purchase this cigar in other shapes including the Pomposo (Churchill), Divino (Toro), and Romantico (Gordo). Each vitola will run around $10 to 12 USD.

The Smoke: I love using my V-cutter from Xikar for cutting box-pressed cigars and this one was no different. The well constructed cigar feels solid to the touch but has a slight sponginess when squeezed. As mentioned above, the color from the wrapper is a milk chocolate color with some light veins noticeable towards the head of the cigar.
The cold draw of the cigar is good and has solid elements of wood and leather. Lighting the cigar keeps the flavors and adds some hints of pepper in the first third. As the cigar ages, cocoa and coffee enters. Cedar along with some slight sweetness are present from beginning to end.
The draw and construction maintain fairly well during the hour and fifteen minute life span of the smoke. The burn rate is slightly uneven but able to manage with some corrective lights. The ash is a light gray color that looks solid but I was not going to take any chances and I ashed the cigar at least 5 times during the smoking experience.
This is not the first, or second, or even third time I have reached for one of these out of my tupperdor; but, each one has been as consistent as the next. The price point feels a bit high to my sensibilities but the consistency has to count for something I suppose. This is the type of smoke that will not "wow" you by any means but it is about as solid as it can get.
The Score: Buy a 10 Pack
