Sombremesa Robusto Largo

Sombremesa Robusto Largo

The Sombresa is an offering from small batch craft cigar manufacture Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and comes in many vitolas ranging from a short churchill or short torpedo up to a Gran Imperiales (Churchhill). The cigar vitola for this review is the Robusto Largo that sizes in at 5.2" x 52 which is slightly longer and thicker than a traditional robusto. Dunbarton Tabacco & Trust was established in 2015 by Steve Saka, a long time cigar industry expert. Steve Saka's better known roles in the industry include being a top consultant for JR Cigars and CEO of Drew Estate for an eight year period.

The cigar is manufactured in Estelli, Nicaragua at the Joya de Nicaragua factory and contains a blend of tobacco grown in Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. The binder of the cigar is sourced from Mexico while the wrapper is sourced from Ecuador and is a Habano sun grown leaf.

Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Mexico
Filler: Nicaragua, Pennsylvania (USA)
Length: 5 1/4"
Ring Gauge: 52
Size: Robusto

The Smoke: This cigar has a great draw throughout the entire smoke. The strength is medium to strong. Flavor notes feature some black pepper spice that eventually gives way to some sweetness from wood, honey, and nuts. The construction of the cigar is solid and last during the entire smoke while also maintaining an even burn rate. This cigar is very good and I found it to be enjoyable night cap on a steamy Florida evening. I do think many smokers would find this to be a must have case in their possession but I find that having 10 or less in my humidor more than satisfactory.

Score: Buy a 10 Pack
