Foundation Cigars Tabernacle Lancero

Foundation Cigars Tabernacle Lancero Review

I have had a few Foundation Tabernacles in robusto and toro vitolas, but I wanted to do something different this morning. Enter the lancero vitola; a vitola that seems to be making a comeback, that is if you only base your judgement by what is seen on social media platforms. It is the same length as a churchhill at 7 inches and is as thin as a petite corona with a ring gauge of 40.

This Nicaraguan assembled cigar is filled with Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos with a Mexican San Andres binder. The cigar is wrapped by a maduro Connecticut leaf that provides a deep and rich hue to the outside of the cigar.

Wrapper: Connecticut
Binder: Mexico
Filler: Honduras and Nicaragua
Length: 7"
Ring Gauge: 40
Size: Lancero

The Smoke: The construction of the cigar is solid with a well-rounded head. My straight cut was able to take the cap of with ease. The unlit scent is of cedar and nuts. After lighting the cigar, the wood and nut continued while being compounded by espresso and chocolate. There is also an element of honey and caramel like sweetness. The smoke is light a creamy. I was expecting this smoke to last about an hour and a half, and it met every bit of my expectations for length. This is a great cigar and one I will look to add additional vitolas into my tupperdor.

Score: Buy a box of 20
